Strengthening capacity for the monitoring of compliance with ACJ Laws in 8 states

We are providing support to the British Council European Union Rule of Law and Accountability (ROLAC) program to strengthen capacity for the implementation of and monitoring of compliance with ACJ Laws through the establishment of the Administration of Criminal Justice Committees (ACJMCs) or such other relevant structures in ROLAC focal states and other states.

The support involved, consultation with RoLAC, to develop and or adapt extant reporting templates for justice sector agencies, such as the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Correctional Services, Judiciary, Ministry of Justice, that enable the agencies in each state to report on their implementation of the ACJ Law. 

We were responsible for the development of an annual reporting template and a monitoring and evaluation framework and designing co-creation workshops with the justice sector agencies in each state on analyzing and utilizing information from the reporting templates. The support also included providing mentorship for the state secretariats of the ACJMCs on the collection of data for their annual report and collation of information from the justice sector agencies using the templates developed.
